What Is Chiropractic?
The World Health Organisation defines chiropractic as "A health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. There is an emphasis on manual techniques, including joint adjustment and/or manipulation with a particular focus on subluxations."
Chiropractors have a base-line minimum of 5 years of university education which primarily focuses on understanding the structure and function of the spine and nervous system. Our chiropractors have a thirst for knowledge and have completed further post-graduate education.
Who Do We Help and What Do We Help With?
Most people's first experience with chiropractic care is because they have back pain, neck pain, headaches, or perhaps pregnancy related discomfort. Chiropractic care is an effective and drug free way of helping individuals with back pain, neck pain and headaches feel better but we also help individuals minimise the chance of their problems coming back. Very soon our patients tend to notice other changes in their health as their initial problems dissipate and this is where our passion exists.
Poor posture, aches and pains are symptoms of underlying problems and these are what we're here to uncover. Ultimately, we wish to empower the individuals and families we see, to not only achieve their health goals but also to thrive.
At NT Chiropractic Health & Wellness Centre, we have a special interest in families. Children are always welcome and are in fact very valued members of our clinic. To assist in catering to families with young children, we offer a dedicated kids play area in our waiting room and have plenty of toys available to keep everyone happy. We also have a dedicated quiet area called our “Nurture Lounge” which has baby changing and feeding facilities for those times, “nature calls.” Breast feeding and all other forms of child nurturing is welcome in all areas of the clinic because we know hunger can strike anywhere! There is also a lending library available on various health and parenting topics to assist our practice members in their thirst for knowledge and useful information.
